Angesichts seiner gewaltigen Haushaltsprobleme hat die griechische Regierung einen Kahlschlag im Staatsapparat beschlossen. 28.000 Staatsbedienstete werden beurlaubt. Bis 2015 sollen sogar 150.000 Stellen im öffentlichen Dienst gestrichen werden. Wie erwartet wird das Land in diesem Jahr seine Defizitziele verfehlen.
